DAVID WEBB was brought up in Burstow Road, Wimbledon, where he was living as a child during the Blitz. His home was severely damaged and he narrowly escaped with his life. After the war he became an engineering apprentice and spent his career working in electronics for the Ministry of Defence until 1994. He was a military reservist for many years and was Honorary Secretary of the Royal British Legion in Malaga when living in Spain 2004-10. He now lives in Newmarket where he is a local councillor.
