Books overview
Most of the books in the museum’s collection are ‘working tools’ to help with enquiries and research – histories and biographies, and ‘how to do it’ books on local history such as researching the history of your house. Some, though, are more in the nature of artefacts – museum objects in themselves, such as Toynbee’s 150 years old proposals for the formation of local museums, and Wingfield’s early tennis manual.
